Training Team

A 5K run is 3.1 miles, but don't be daunted by the distance. Work your way up to walking or running the 3.1 miles of the Spider Dash with help from University Recreation staff.

Open to students, staff, and faculty, the 5k training team is a 6-week program for all ability levels, from true beginnings to seasoned runners. We can help you meet your individual 5k goal, whether its to simply cross the finish line or achieve a personal best time.

Participants will be able to choose a walking or running option, each with its own dedicated coach and two (2) weekly group training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings at either 6:30 a.m. (walking team) or 7 a.m. (running team).
